A 66-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of the murder of missing Portslade father Gary Hampson, has been released on police bail.
Sussex Police said that the woman, who comes from Brighton, has been bailed until Friday 17 June pending further inquiries.
Officers from the force have carried out a search and forensic examination of the woman’s home.
They are investigating the disappearance of Mr Hampson, 42, who vanished in January after dropping his daughter home from primary school.
The missing person inquiry became a murder investigation after a significant amount of Mr Hampson’s blood was found at the garage he ran in Little Western Street, Brighton, by the Hove border.
Specialist search teams are trying to find Mr Hampson’s body and are currently looking along the A281 corridor between Cowfold and the Sussex border with Surrey.
Two Brighton men are currently being held in custody in relation the murder of Mr Hampson, who was described as a devoted father.
Former mechanic Daniel Alexander, 61, of no fixed address, is charged with murder and Roy Bartup, 67, of Natal Road, Brighton, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
In addition a 48-year-old man from Brighton is on police bail in connection with Mr Hampson’s murder until Wednesday 25 May.
