Detectives hunting for a missing father from Portslade expect to complete their search of locations near the A23 tomorrow (Wednesday 18 May).
Sussex Police said that it was continuing to search the A23 corridor as part of the Gary Hampson murder investigation.
Mr Hampson, who ran a garage on the border of Brighton and Hove, has been missing since dropping his daughter home from school in January.
Specialist search teams have five locations left to check as they look for signs of, among other things, the ground being disturbed.
Sussex Police also said that the blue Ford Escort van being sought by detectives had been located after a media appeal and was no longer an active line of inquiry.
A spokesman said officers were grateful to the public and the media for their help.
Two Brighton men are currently being held on remand in relation to Mr Hampson’s disappearance.
Daniel Alexander, 61, of no fixed address, has been charged with murdering Mr Hampson.
Roy Bartup, 67, of Natal Road, Brighton, has been charged with conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
