A 46-year-old man from Hollingdean has today been charged with two counts of rape.
Both of the offences are alleged to have taken place in Brighton in the mid 1990s.
Stephen Edwards, of Merevale in Hollingdean, faced the charges when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court in Edward Street this afternoon (Friday 13 May).
Edwards was charged with the two counts of rape, both of which are alleged to have taken place between Sunday 1 January 1995 and Friday 1 March 1996.
Sussex Police said that the court had remanded Edwards in custody. He will be brought before a crown court at a later date.
