Hove Conservative MP Mike Weatherley has nominated a curry house from his constituency for a national competition.
Mr Weatherley held a competition to find the best South Asian restaurant in Hove and Portslade.
He sampled main courses with a panel of experts at five shortlisted eateries – Indian Kitchen, Golden Tandoori, Indiana, Zamdani and Ganges Brasserie.
The winner, Ganges Brasserie in Church Road, Hove, has been put forward as the consituency’s entry in the 2011 Tiffin Cup.
Mr Weatherley said: “It was a fantastic event that provided a great opportunity to sample some of the best dishes that Hove’s South Asian restaurants have to offer.
“It was a close call but Ganges Brasserie came out on top and I wish them the best of luck in the national competition.”
The Tiffin Cup has been running since 2006. Last year the Jewel in the Crown in Swindon won the final which took place at the House of Commons.
This year’s competition is being held to raise funds for the charity World Vision to support children around the globe who face injustice and poverty.
