A man has been charged with carrying out a sex attack on an elderly woman in her Brighton flat.
The 29-year-old man, from Bethnal Green, East London, is accused of breaking into the ground-floor flat in Varndean Road, Brighton, on Wednesday (4 May).
Napindi Palu was arrested at his home address in Thurtle Road, Bethnal Green, by detectives from the Sussex Police Major Crime Branch on Friday afternoon (6 May).
He was brought to Sussex and yesterday afternoon (Saturday 7 May) he was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one of trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence.
He has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday 9 May).
A 25-year-old man from North-West London was arrested in the early hours of Thursday (5 May) in connection with the attack.
He will have no further action taken against him.
