A 22-year-old man was hurt in a hammer attack at a Brighton barber’s shop this morning.
Sussex Police said that officers were called to Hair Razors in Coombe Road, Brighton, just before 9am.
Two men attacked a member of the hairdresser’s staff.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with head injuries and has since been discharged.
The suspects, who described as either Eastern European or having tanned skin, ran off in the direction of Riley Road.
One had dark hair, bushy eyebrows and facial hair, and the other had mousy blonde hair and green eyes.
One of the men was wearing a blue shirt and black trousers and the other a red T-shirt.
Detective Constable Chris Bishop said: “This was a frightening attack in broad daylight and the victim is very lucky not to have received more serious injuries.
“We believe the suspects are known to the victim and we are speaking to witnesses who saw the suspects after the attack happended.
“A metal bar was recovered near the salon but not the hammer which we believe was used in the attack.”
There were no customers in the barber’s shop at the time of the assault.
