Snooker commentator Ted Lowe, who was due to appear at the Brighton Centre next month, has died.
His death came on the day of the 2011 Snooker World Championship final at The Crucible in Sheffield.
“Whispering” Ted was due to appear as a special guest at the Snooker Legends event in Brighton.
The Snooker Legends tour brings the likes of Jimmy White, Cliff Thorburn, John Parrott, Dennis Taylor, John Virgo and Ray Reardon back to the green baize.
The 90-year-old veteran of Pot Black retired after the 1996 world final.
He spent the past week in a hospice after his health began to fail.
