A teenager was raped in Brighton by a man after a night out.
The man who attacked her had said that he would help her look for her mobile phone which she had lost.
The 19-year-old victim had met her attacker in a fish and chip shop in King’s Road and he raped her in a narrow street near by.
The pair are believed to have been picked up by a taxi shortly afterwards, between 3.30am and 4am on Wednesday (20 April).
Detective Constable Andy Beaumont said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who remembers seeing the suspect in the fish and chip shop prior to the attack and to the taxi driver who picked the suspect and victim up in a silver Ford Mondeo between 3.30am and 4am following the attack.”
The suspect is described as being of Mediterranean appearance with dark brown hair and a stubbled face.
He was aged in his mid twenties to thirties, of proportionate build and 5ft 11in tall.
He spoke with a local accent and was wearing Timberland shoes, dark jeans and a light top.
The victim, from Littlehampton, is being offered help and support by specialist officers.
