The former partner of a Portslade father who has been missing since January has described their daughter’s heartache.
Gary Hampson, 48, Old Shoreham Road, Portslade, was described by detectives as a “doting dad” as they upgraded their search from a missing person inquiry to a murder investigation.
Mr Hampson’s former partner Kelly, 32, said: “Our daughter cherishes her dad and misses him every day.
“For a young girl who adores her father to hear the news her dad may not be coming home is heartbreaking.
“Please, for me, my daughter and Gary’s family, tell police any information you may have that will help us find Gary.
“Someone must know something.”
Mr Hampson, who worked at a garage on the border of Brighton and Hove – Kop Cars Body Shop, in Little Western Street, Brighton – went missing after dropping his daughter home after school.
She turned 10 earlier this month.
A man was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of murdering Mr Hampson. Today he was released on police bail.
