A gun-toting burglar left a Brighton man needing hospital treatment after trying to break into his flat.
Two men tried to force their way into the flat in Devonshire Place, Kemp Town, at about 8.20pm on Saturday (26 March).
A man inside the flat tried to stop them from breaking in and was hit on the head with what is thought to have been a gun.
He was treated for his wound at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
During the fracas, a woman inside the flat called the police, at which point the intruders fled.
Sussex Police said that the first man was black, aged in his early twenties, 5ft 8in’ to 5ft 9in’tall, of slim but athletic build and with short black hair.
The second man was described as white, about 6ft tall and of skinny build.
Detective Inspector Ian Still, of Brighton and Hove CID, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident.”
