Magistrates have remanded in custody a Brighton man suspected of trying to rob a convenience store in Kemp Town.
Stephen William Jones, 49, of Redvers Road, Brighton, will be held until he appears at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 25 March.
He is accused of trying to rob the store, in Edward Street, Brighton, at about 3.40pm on Saturday 5 February, and of having an offensive weapon.
Jones faces two more charges of having an offensive weapon after pepper spray and an electronic stun gun were found during a search of his home.
He was remanded in custody at Brighton Magistrates’ Court (Monday 7 March).
