A Brighton documentary maker has won an award for its programme Britain’s Fattest Man from a leading industry body.
Electric Sky Productions, of Clifton Mews in Brighton, won the award for the Best Single Documentary or Factual Programme at the Royal Television Society Southern Awards.
The documentary followed 70 stone Paul Mason who needed life-saving surgery to help him lose weight and to give him the chance of being able to walk again.
When it was broadcast in early January it was Channel 4’s most watched programme that day.
The programme makers were also shortlisted in the Best Factual or Factual Entertainment Series category for First Love.
The series included Katie Derham, Lenny Henry, Janet Street-Porter, Mark Radcliffe and Meera Syal rediscovering the fondness that they once had for music before embarking on their current careers.
