A Brighton man was viciously beaten at the weekend in an unprovoked attack.
Two or three men attacked the 23-year-old as he walked home along Morley Street and neared neared the stairs leading to Ashton Rise.
He was knocked to the ground and kicked several times to the head, receiving cuts for which he was treated at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Kemp Town.
One of his attackers is described as white, in his early twenties, about 6ft tall, of slim athletic build and with a shaved head. He was wearing dark jeans.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Nothing was stolen and the motive for the attack is unclear at this time.”
The attack happened at about 4.45am on Sunday (20 February).
