A woman has been arrested after two others had to rescued from a house fire in Bevendean.
The 26-year-old suspected arsonist is thought to have started the fire at a flat in Widdicombe Way at about 8pm on Wednesday evening (16 February).
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service tackled the blaze and rescued two unconscious women and three dogs from the ground floor flat.
Both the ground floor and first floor were well alight.
The two women were given oxygen at the scene then taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton to be treated for the effects of breathing in smoke.
