Three men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a man was attacked in Moulsecoomb in the early hours of this morning.
The victim, 25, suffered a broken cheek bone and cuts to his face after being attacked in his car.
The grey Kia car was parked in Lewes Road, Brighton, about 100 yards from Moulsecoomb library.
During the robbery the man’s attackers stole a small sum of cash.
The robbery happened at about 1.45am when three men approached the car from behind.
Two of the men each opened the driver and passenger door and punched the victim in the face.
He got out of his car and tried to run but was tripped by one of the men who continued to attack him.
Detective Sergeant Steve French said: “The victim suffered serious facial injuries during this violent robbery.
“I am keen to speak to a potential witness who drove past in a taxi and to anyone else who can assist detectives in the investigation.”
