A teenager has been remanded in custody by magistrates charged with carrying out five armed robberies in six days in Brighton and Hove.
James Brown, 18, of Dyke Road, Brighton, is accused of using a knife when he carried out the street robberies.
They are alleged to have taken place in New England Street, St Nicholas Road and Pelham Street, all in Brighton, and Hove Park Villas, Hove, from Thursday 27 January to Tuesday 1 February.
He was remanded by Brighton magistrates on Saturday (5 February) and is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 15 April for a case management hearing.
