A yacht with a suspected engine fire was towed to a berth in Brighton Marina earlier today by the RNLI Brighton lifeboat.
The 30ft yacht with four people on board had called the Coastguard to report smoke coming from the engine compartment and a possible fire.
The RNLI lifeboat was out at sea on a training exercise and went to assist, reaching the yacht in only a couple of minutes, close to the Marina.
The crew found that the smoke had begun to subside.
Once the yacht had reached the Marina, the lifeboat towed it to a visitor’s pontoon where the vessel was checked. Everyone on board was safe and well.
