Firefighters helped a man, a woman and a baby to safety after a blaze in a flat in Brighton in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service made it to the building in Whitehawk Way in Whitehawk within five minutes of receiving a call just before 1am today.
They arrived in two fire engines and tender with an aerial ladder platform.
The two adults and the baby who were rescued were given oxygen at the scene.
They were then taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Eastern Road near by for treatment for the effects of breathing in smoke
The fire is thought to have been accidental.
The crews left the scene at about 2am.
