Firefighters were called to help rescue a Hove man fell and broke his neck.
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service used an aerial ladder platform to enable the man to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
They were called to the flats at Coastal Place in New Church Road, Hove, shortly after 8.30pm on Monday (10 January).
An elderly man had had a fall and needed helping from the building to the waiting ambulance with great care.
The firefighters brought the casualty out through a first floor window of the flats which are between Richardson Road and Rutland Gardens.
