Brighton and Hove Albion have been rewarded for their FA Cup victory on Saturday with a trip to Watford in the 4th round.
Albion will travel to Vicarage Road for the tie on either Saturday 29 January or Sunday 30 January.
Watford are currently sixth in the Championship, four points and a game in hand off the second place spot which would bring automatic promotion to the Premiership.
The Hornets beat Hartlepool 4-1 at home on Saturday and are the top scoring side in the Championship so far this season.
They are nine points and twelve places ahead of Portsmouth who were Albion’s 3rd round opponents on Saturday.
The Seagulls silenced the Pompey chimes with a 3-1 win at the Withdean Stadium courtesy of goals from Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes and Francisco Sandaza.
Portsmouth reached the final last season and won the cup in 2008.
The victory over Albion’s local rivals comes 18 years after the teams last met in the FA Cup 3rd round.
In January 1993 Pompey, who reached the semi-finals in the previous season, lost 1-0 at a packed Goldstone Ground after winger Matt Edwards netted.
Next Saturday (15 January) the Seagulls host promotion rivals Peterborough and the Saturday after (22 January) the club will be travelling to second place Bournemouth.
