A university sponsored team is offering a £1,000 prize for the best idea to make Brighton better.
The competition – called Make Brighton Rock – is open to the public and the organisers want the public to vote too.
Anyone with an idea to improve Brighton can send it to the Sussex Innovation Centre by Monday 14 February.

The ten ideas with the most votes will be assessed by a panel of judges with three winners being chosen.
The best idea will win £1,000, the runner up will receive £500 and third prize is £250.
The innovation centre – which is based at the Sussex University campus in Falmer – is inviting ideas in ten categories
- Health
- Transport
- Education
- Safety and security

- Other
So far 32 ideas have been put forward, with the early frontrunner being an idea to introduce free wi-fi – wireless internet access – in the city centre.
The organisers at the innovation centre plan to present the winning ideas to relevant organisations such as the NHS, Sussex Police and Brighton and Hove City Council.
The university is the majority shareholder in the innovation centre, which provides business facilities and services for 70 companies in the IT, biotech, media and engineering sectors.
