Pensioners were evacuated from a care home in Hove after a fire broke out in the early hours of this morning.
All 18 were in their rooms when the fire was reported just after midnight.
One resident who had breathed in some smoke was given treatment by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service.
All the residents were back in their rooms by 1.30am after the crew – from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service – had cleared the building of smoke.
The fire caused minor damage to a shower room on the ground floor of the three-storey care home in Pembroke Avenue, Hove.
