An 18-year-old woman was raped in the early hours of this morning in the centre of Brighton.
The attack comes days after another 18-year-old was sexually assaulted by a taxi driver in the town centre.
The attack earlier today happened as the woman walked through Brighthelm Gardens, just off Queen’s Road, between midnight and 2am.
Detective Inspector Ian Still said: “This was a very frightening ordeal for the victim.
“We are making extensive enquiries to trace the suspect.
“Police were swift to respond, making an initial search and forensically examining the scene.
“They are seeking witnesses, making local inquiries and viewing CCTV.
“We have specially trained officers who are with the victim and offering her support.”
