A man suffered head injuries in an attack on Brighton seafront in the small hours of yesterday morning.
Sussex Police said that two men have been charged since the attack took place.
The attack happened at about 4.30am by the King’s Road Arches, Brighton.
The 22-year-old victim was punched and kicked in the head.
Police saw people running from the scene and three men from Lewisham in south-east London were arrested shortly afterwards.
Sergeant Alison Crick said: “This was a nasty assault which left the 22-year-old victim with swelling to his head and cuts and swelling to his face.
“He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital and is recovering well.”
Diyar Ilarslan, 19, of Slagrove Place, Lewisham, and Ivor Beason, 21, of Algernon Road, Lewisham, have both charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
They have been released on police bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 7 December.
The third person who was arrested, an 18-year-old, will have no further action taken against him.
