Brighton Green Party MP Caroline Lucas has won an award from a right-wing political magazine.
The Brighton Pavilion MP picked up the award for Newcomer of the Year parliamentary award at the Spectator’s annual Parliamentarian of the Year Awards ceremony in central London last week.
Dr Lucas became Britain’s first Green MP at the general election in May.
She said: “I am delighted to receive this award from the Spectator, and appreciate that my efforts as a new elected member in Westminster have been recognised in this way.
“I hope to be able to live up to the high expectations that this title brings – and be a great MP for my Brighton Pavilion constituents.”
