An event to mark the transgender day of remembrance takes place in Brighton tomorrow.
The Clare Project is hosting the event at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church from 2.30pm to 5pm.
Brighton and Hove City Council said that there would be a candlelit vigil when the names of transgender victims of hate crime over the past year would be read out.
Sussex Police said that two officers, AliJAy Lawrence and Rich Bridger, would attend the vigil tomorrow.
Yesterday the council said that a memorial photography exhibition featuring portraits of people who have been lost to transphobic hate crime opened in the main windows of Jubilee Library in Brighton.
And the town halls in Brighton and Hove are flying the ‘Trans Flag’ throughout the weekend.
