Students at Sussex University have spent a second night occupying a lecture theatre in protest at proposals to raise tuition fess and cut funding for higher education.
About 200 students are camped out in the lecture theatre in the Fulton building at the university’s main Falmer campus.
They entered the building late on Monday afternoon after protest march through the campus.
And they say that they intend to stay in the building as long as they can to voice their opposition to the Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government’s plans.
The protest is disrupting the teaching timetable.
But so far the university authorities appear to have taken a more relaxed stance than they did to a sit-in at Sussex House on the campus in March.
