A man fell to his death from the 14th floor of a Brighton block of flats.
John Davies, 39, a father of two, fell from St James’s House in High Street, Brighton.
He lived in the same block of flats.
Sussex Police has asked the Independent Police Complaints Commission to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr Davies’s death.
The force issued a statement saying: “A man fell to his death from St James’s House in Brighton at 1pm on Saturday (13 November).
“Police were alerted shortly beforehand and on arrival discovered the body of the man, who was in his thirties.
“Despite the early attendance of police and paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the man’s death, which is not thought to be suspicious.
“His family have been informed.
“Due to the attendance of police officers shortly after the fall, the matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).”
