Drivers coming into Brighton on the A27 from the Lewes direction next week are being warned that a key sliproad will be closed each night from 9pm.
The southbound sliproad taking traffic from the A27 to A270 Lewes Road will be shut to allow roadworks related to Brighton and Hove Albion’s new football stadium at Falmer.
The closure, stretching to the Coldean traffic lights, is to allow resurfacing from 9pm to 6am.
The road is scheduled to be ready for the morning rush-hour traffic.
The overnight closures are expected to last from Monday to Friday, with traffic diverted up the A27 and down Coldean Lane from the Hollingbury junction.
The northbound A270 will remain unaffected as will south of Coldean lights on the southbound A270.
Brighton and Hove City Council said that access to Stanmer Park would be kept open at all times.
There will also be daytime surfacing work in the area.
However, disruption then is expected to be minimal as traffic management arrangements will be the same as those throughout recent works at the spot.
This is due to start on Monday 22 November for about two weeks.
