The Brighton and Hove (actually) Gay Men’s Chorus is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a gala performance tomorrow evening.
Chairman John Hamilton said: “The chorus have worked tremendously hard over these recent years.
“Guided by our talented musical director Jason Pimblett we have tried to up the bar with each of our concerts.
“The birthday concert will reprise the best of our recent shows.
“There will be some exciting new numbers as well.”
The chorus will be putting on its biggest production so far at Hove Town Hall tomorrow when it will be joined by the London Gay Men’s Chorus.
The event, which starts at 6.30pm, will be hosted by writer and broadcaster Simon Fanshawe.
Proceeds will go to The Sussex Beacon.
Since the Brighton and Hove chorus was founded it has performed regular Pride and Christmas concerts at St Andrew’s Church in Waterloo Street, Hove.
It has also performed at the Royal Academy of Music, the Foreign Office and the Duke of York’s cinema for its centenary celebrations.
It has raised more than £10,000 for local charities and now has 50 musicians and singers.
