A Hove doctors’ surgery has re-opened almost a week after a company linked to controversial landlord Nicholas Hoogstraten closed it without warning.
The Eaton Centre, in Eaton Gardens, Hove, started accepting some patients again this morning for the first time since last Tuesday.
It should re-open fully tomorrow (Wednesday 10 November).
It was closed last Wednesday after City Estates, the surgery’s landlord, said that it had forfeited the lease for non-payment of rent, insurance and service charges.
Dr Nigel Higson, who runs the Eaton Centre and nearby Goodwood Court Medical Centre in Cromwell Road, Hove, disputed this.
He said that the agreed rent had been paid in advance for the premises and accused Mr Hoogstraten’s company of placing patients’ lives at risk.
