Police made eight arrests after a sit-down protest outside the Vodafone shop in Western Road, Brighton, on Saturday, October 30.
The arrests were made for public order offences after the eight men failed to comply with a police order to leave the area.
A Sussex Police spokesman said; “The police action was taken as part of our duty to balance the right to free speech and peaceful protest with the need to prevent disorder and breach of the peace.”
The eight were later bailed without charge until 1 and 2 December whilst police enquiries continue.
Two of them are aged 15, and one is 41, and the others are in their 30s. All but one of them are local to Brighton or Lewes.
The incident followed a large but peaceful protest march against government spending cuts which progressed from The Level to Victoria Gardens.
