Two passers-by thwarted a street robbery in Brighton.
They stepped in when a youth attacked a middle-aged man in London Road in the early hours of the morning last Friday (8 October).
The youth had demanded money but when the 43-year-old victim refused to hand anything over, the youth attacked him.
The two passers-by intervened, helping the victim who suffered a broken cheek bone.
He was treated at the Royal Sussex County HospitalE inastern Road, Brighton, where he had stitching to his eye.
A 19-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of robbery.
He has been bailed until 16 November pending further inquiries.
