Armed robbers have raided the Seven Dials post office for the second time in a fortnight.
A man wearing a balaclava and dressed all in black threatened a customer with a pistol as he walked into the branch in Melville Road, Hove, at 11.30am today and demanded money from staff.
He was handed a quantity of cash and escaped in a gold coloured estate car, believed to have been a Volvo.
The customer and two members of staff in the post office were uninjured but badly shaken by the ordeal.
It was the second raid on the branch in two weeks. Police believe the attacks were linked.
Detective Inspector Lee Horner, from Sussex Police, said: “We are appealing for witnesses. This post office was robbed on 23 September and we are linking the two robberies.
“Detectives are in the early stages of investigating this robbery and are following a number of lines of enquiry, including carrying out forensic examinations.”
The robber was 5′ 8′ and slim.
