A Hove building society was robbed late last night.
Detectives believe that the robbery – outside Nationwide Building Society in Church Road – is linked to a similar raid outside the Santander branch just yards away in George Street last week.
Officers were called to the Nationwide branch at around 11.35pm.
Two security guards delivering cash there had been approached by two men.
The security guards handed over the money to the men, who are not thought to have had any weapon, after a short struggle.
It is not known at this stage how much money was taken.
Both offenders are described as black and were wearing dark clothing.
One of the men was wearing a black jacket and a black baseball cap with a red stripe on it.
Detective Inspector Lee Horner said: “We would really like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone suspicious in the area shortly before the robbery took place or anyone who witnessed the incident.
“We are also trying to trace the movements of the two men shortly after the incident and in particular any vehicles they may have used to make off from the Seafield Road area.”
Last Thursday (23 September) at about 11.30pm two robbers escaped with cash from two security guards making a delivery to Santander.
