A man was left with a broken arm after being attacked at Duke’s Mound in Brighton.
Three teenagers approached their 51-year-old victim as he was walking home at about 1.30am on Friday 27 August.
One of them kicked the side of his body above his waist, causing him to fall and break his arm.
The attacker had a distinct Irish accent and all three men are described as white, aged 16 to 18, about 5ft 7in, of slender build and wearing dark jeans and hoodies.
They ran off towards Brighton Marina.
Sussex Police described the incident as a homophobic assault and Detective Constable Kelly Lewis said: “I’m keen to speak to a passer-by who stopped to help the victim to his feet and would urge anyone with information to report it.”
