Police are appealing for information after an antique trader was targeted by robbers, stealing thousands of pounds in car memorabilia.
Details have just been released about the robbery at a garage in Clarendon Place, Brighton, at around 4pm on Saturday, July 17.
Detective Constable James Meanwell said: “We believe this may have been a pre-planned robbery and that the victim may have been followed to the garage from a car show at the Saltdean Oval.
“An investigation is underway and PCSOs are conducting house to house enquiries.
“I’m appealing to anyone who may be offered these items or sees them advertised to contact police.”
Among the items stolen were Lalique glass statues of dragonflies, a lady, a cockerel head, hawks, owls, wild boar and coloured fish; Lalique bookends in the shape of eagles, kneeling ladies, and swallows; Lalique figure of Leda and the swan; brass cannons; Art Deco figures.
One of the suspects is described as having a foreign accent, possibly Italian or Spanish.
