An image from a Brighton CCTV camera prompted a man suspected of rape to hand himself in to police last night.
Sussex Police had urged the man who was pictured to make contact after a woman in her thirties claimed that he sexually assaulted her.
The incident was alleged to have taken place at her home in Brighton on Saturday 5 June.
Detectives said that they had obtained a full DNA profile from the scene and would use it to eliminate suspects.
After seeing the appeal by Sussex Police, a 24-year-old man from Bristol turned himself in.
He has been released on police bail until 12 October pending further inquiries.
