The unfortunate wardrobe malfunction of the Lord Mayor of Leicester, whose trousers fell down in front of schoolchildren, has been blamed on his scrapping of council meeting prayers by a Brighton priest.
Father Ray Blake, of St Mary Magdalen Church in Upper North Street Brighton, says on his blog he was saddened by Chris Hall’s decision to end prayers because they are “irrelevant”.
He credits another Catholic blogger, Red Maria, as making the link, saying: “RM’s message: “Don’t mess with God”. Who said he hasn’t got a sense of humour!”
