The owners of a Brighton retail park have applied for permission for Sunday trading at a unit Marks and Spencer have been linked with.
Legal and General Assurance Society Ltd. have submitted a planning application to Brighton and Hove City Council asking for permission for the former MFI warehouse in Carden Avenue, in Hollingbury, to be used on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Following rumours last month an M&S spokeswoman confirmed the firm was interested in expanding in the Brighton and Hove area but would not be drawn on specific sites.
The council will decide on the opening hours application in the next few weeks.
Neighbouring stores Argos, Next, Matalan and Brantano all already trade on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
