Throughout the World Cup period Brighton and Hove Council will fly the English flag, the St George Cross, from the city’s three town halls.
However, this weekend the Union Flag will fly above Brighton, Hove and Portslade town halls to honour the Queen’s official birthday.
The Armed Forces Day flag will be hoisted on MOnday, June 21, and fly throughout the weekend of June 26-27.
Council leader Mary Mears said: “Like so many of our city’s residents I’m excited at the prospect of England having a great World Cup, and I think we would all want to show our support for Armed Forces Day.”
