A couple have been questioned on suspicion of conning football fans by selling them World Cup packages to South Africa after their Brighton company had gone bust.
BYT World Cup 2010 sold package trips including travel, accommodation and match tickets for the World Cup finals in South Africa.
But, Sussex Police said, the company appeared to have recently ceased trading and was unable to supply the tickets.
The company offered a range of packages for the tournament, from a £1,750 budget deal to a £3,800 package to see the final. All the packages included travel and accommodation in three-star game lodges.
Yesterday police arrested a man and woman, both aged 45 and from Worthing, on suspicion of fraud.
After being interviewed by officers they were released on police bail until July pending further inquiries.
Anyone with information relating to the company is asked to contact Detective Sergeant David Osland, of Brighton CID, on
0845 6070999, extension 50209.
