Fictional Brighton sleuth Roy Grace looks likely to become a telly detective.
Author Peter James wrote in The Mail on Sunday today: “One aspect of the success of my Roy Grace novels I’m really enjoying is that it’s giving me the chance to give something back to a place that I love so much.
“I’m often asked when we’ll see Grace as a television series.
“This should happen soon and it will be set in Brighton.”
James, 61, a former film producer, shared the news in a travel piece for the newspaper.
In it, the Brighton-born author described the town as “an almost perfect criminal environment”, although he praised the way that it is policed.
James, who lives near Ditchling, has penned a sixth book about Detective Superintendent Grace.
Dead Like You is due to be published on Wednesday 2 June.
