A Good Samaritan who interrupted a rapist attacking an 18-year-old woman on Brighton beach is being urged to come forward.
The man, who is described as older and with greying hair, intervened when he saw the horrifying attack on the beach between the Palace Pier and West Street
When he came over, between 2am and 3.30am last Saturday morning, the attacker fled. The girl was severely shocked and distressed but was not otherwise physically injured.
The suspect is described as white, in his early twenties, with dark hair and wearing jeans and a white polo shirt. He and the girl had just left a nearby club together.
The man who came to the rescue, and anyone else who was in the seafront area at the time and saw anything that night help the enquiry, is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 267 of 10 April.
