A funeral will be held next Friday for a popular man who was stabbed to death in Elm Grove, Brighton, last month.
Gordon Stalker, 51, who was well known at the Lewes Road Community Garden project, was stabbed to death at his home of 16 years on Monday, February 15.
A spokesman for the project said on Facebook: “Gordon devoted much time, energy and ingenuity to ensure that the Lewes Road Community Garden provided a warm and welcoming space for anyone and everyone who happened by.
“He was active in the Say No to Tesco Campaign and other community groups like the Friends of William Clarke Parke.
“At last we will be able to gather together, with his family, his friends and with many others whose lives he touched, to pay our last respects and honour his life and his memory.”
The funeral will take place at the Woodvale Crematorium in Brighton at 1.45pm.
Stephen Dunne, 40, of Chates Court Farm, Brighton, has been charged with Mr Stalker’s murder.
