Hundreds of Brighton boutiques are to take part in the city’s first shopping festival next month.
The month-long festival aims to show off the best clothes shopping opportunities Brighton has to offer, from high street fashion to cutting edge independent outlets.
The event features special offers, events such as the Fiery Foods Chilli Festival, a daily prize draw and an egg trail to keep the children entertained.
Soozie Campbell city centre manager, one of the festival’s organisers, said: “It’s been a long cold winter and Brighton’s retailers have suffered from both the bad weather and recession. But they are now ready to take spring by storm.
“The residents and businesses of Brighton never stay down for long and our response to one bad season is to take the next one by the horns and shake every ounce of pleasure from it!
“From the lifestyle shops of The Lanes to the designer bargains of Brighton Marina; from the retro chic of the North Laine to the big-name stores of Churchill Square, shopping in Brighton & Hove really is retail paradise.
“Furthermore, with easy access across buses, railways and fast road links; it makes the city both a convenient and affordable alternative shopping destination.”
More than 8million visitors come to Brighton to shop each year, and retail contributes £407million annually to the city’s economy.
