Police are hunting a “suspicious” man who grabbed a teenage girl as she walked through Hove.
The man was first seen pestering shoppers in the George Street area of Hove at about 2pm yesterday. He spoke with a foreign accent and was asking people questions although no physical contact was made.
Later on the same day, at around 5.15pm in Clarendon Road, Hove, a man fitting the same description approached a teenager and inappropriately touched her.
The victim had got off a train at Hove Station, and was walking south bound towards the Old Shoreham Road when the suspect grabbed her arm and touched her leg. The teenager pulled her arm free and continued walking. She was followed for a short distance and then the suspect disappeared.
The man is described as black, around 20-30 years old, 5′ 9″ tall, and of medium build. He was wearing a black waist length jacket, white trainers, and a black woolly hat with a white rim. The hat had ear covers/flaps with strings attached and may also have had a white patterned band around the centre.
Anyone with any information should call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 1321 of 21/01.
