Rail services from Brighton and Hove are being disrupted this morning because of a trackside fire.
The fire servive has put a 200m cordon around the blaze, next to the tracks between West Worthing and Durrington-on-sea.
Buses are replacing trains between Worthing and Littlehampton, and there is knock-on disruption to other south coast services, and all services from Hove to London are cancelled.
In a statement, Southern says: “Because of the nature of the fire, it is expected that the lines will be closed until at least 4pm. Please allow extra time for your overall journey today.
“Updates on the situation will be posted here during the day. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this period of disruption.”
