Brighton and Hove got a taste of rubbish chaos to come as the first phase of the binmen’s strike started yesterday.
Hundreds of bins were left uncollected after street cleaners working for Brighton and Hove City Council’s CityClean service began working to rule.
This is due to continue until the all-out six-day strike is due to start on Monday.
The Argus reports that yesterday’s tactics included refusing to go out in trucks with minor defects.
The binmen are striking over plans to slash their wages by up to £8,000.
