A body has been found near the Clock Tower in Queen’s Road, Brighton, this morning (Friday 19 March).
Sussex Police said: “We are currently responding to an incident near the Clock Tower, in Queen’s Road, Brighton.
“The road will remain partially closed while police inquiries are carried out and disruption may be caused.
“We thank the public for their patience and understanding at this time.”
The force added: “At 6.37am police received report of a man found unresponsive near the Clock Tower in Queen’s Road, Brighton.
“Officers and ambulance attended and sadly it was confirmed that the man had died.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but it is not thought to be suspicious at this time.
“Road closures are due to be stood down and police would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding.”
Brighton and Hove Buses said: “Due to a police incident we are currently unable to serve Queen’s Road.”
The bus company said that the number 6 was using Montpelier Road and the Seven Dials in both directions.
It added: “All other services that use Queen’s Road are using Imperial Arcade, Buckingham Road and Upper Gloucester Road in both directions.”
A very sad business.
Though the surreal phrase about ‘buses “using Imperial Arcade” as an alternative route made me smile.
More so as the Greens and Momentum parties have now decided they want it to be a right to have tents and turds anywhere.
Rather the same as it is today really in Brighton.
